Ashland rolls past KU

Ashland rallied in the second half and avoided its first loss of the season in a 59-43 nonleague win over Klamath Union on Wednesday at Mountain Avenue Gym.

The Grizzlies (4-0) were outscored 16-7 in the second quarter and trailed 27-21 at the break.

Ashland’s defense intensified and it was able to control the tempo in the second half.

Jayd Sollinger scored 23 points for the Grizzlies, and Gabby Heiken had 13. Kendyl Abel recorded 12 rebounds and seven assists, and Nina Munson had six rebounds, nine assists and two steals.

ShieTeal Watah scored 25 for Klamath Union (3-3).
